Rasmus Henning wins with High5

Rasmus Henning took his first victory this year at the inaugural Challenge Fuerteventura, a middle distance triathlon. The 1.9km sea swim from the Playitas resort beach saw Rasmus lead fellow Dane and training partner Martin Jensen from the water with another High5 fuelled athlete, first year pro Daniel Halksworth, hot on their heals. Martin Jensen managed to gain a gap of 90 seconds during the 90km bike leg, arriving in T2 ahead of a closely bunched Henning, Bayliss and Halksworth. Henning proved to be the strongest, closing the gap on the run before pulling away to win comfortably ahead of Jensen.

Henning has been using High5 Sports Nutrition products in training and competition since the beginning of the year. Having already come a close second twice, Henning was very happy with the win. After the race Henning commented on his race nutrition; “The nutrition seemed to work amazing. I stuck to the same regimen as in Texas, only I drank 250ml more since the bike was slower. I had no stomach issues and my energy levels were great all the way.” Henning’s race nutrition is based on High5’s new generation of 2:1 fructose drinks and Race Faster Nutrition Strategy.

High5 have designed an elite testing program to maximize race day performance. This is far beyond what any other nutrition company is offering. Working with the best long-distance athletes, Rasmus Henning and Marino Vanhoenacker, High5’s aim is to win the Ironman World Championships and record a new fastest ever Iron distance time to underline its position as the Worlds Fastest Sports Nutrition. Intensive testing with Henning is scheduled for June.

Testing with elite athletes like Henning provides High5 with important feedback to improve their nutrition products even further. The High5 Race Faster Guides (downloadable at www.highfive.co.uk) are the direct result of the testing done with elite athletes and will help both elite and club athletes improve their performance.

Henning’s next race will be Challenge Aarhus (Denmark) as continues with his preparation for the Ironman World Championships in October.
